Ultimate Abilities — Every Ship Gets a Game-Changer

Every ship class now has an ultimate ability. One button. One massive play. These are the kind of moments that swing entire matches — and every ship gets one tailored to its role. Press F when your charge is full, and things get loud.

Destroyer: Orbital Barrage

Think High Noon, but with homing missiles. When you activate Orbital Barrage, spinning reticles appear on every enemy in range. They lock on one by one — you can see each target click into place. Once they're all locked, a volley of homing missiles fires at every marked ship simultaneously. Can't wait? Press F again to fire early with whatever locks you have. It's a team fight opener that punishes grouped-up enemies hard.

Dreadnought: Extinction Beam

A massive three-layer beam — outer glow, inner core, white-hot center — that sweeps across your front arc and melts anything it touches. 2200 DPS. That's not a typo. If you catch two or three ships in the sweep, the fight is basically over. The Dreadnought was already scary to face head-on. Now it has a reason to turn toward you.

Frigate: Chain Restoration

The Frigate fires a heal beam that chains between nearby allies, linking up to 4 ships together. Healing decreases with each chain link, so positioning matters — the closer your team groups, the more value you get. In a tight team fight, Chain Restoration keeps your entire squad alive through burst damage that would normally wipe them. It's the ultimate "we don't die here" button.

Interceptor: Phantom Strike

This one is pure assassination. Phantom Strike teleports you behind the weakest enemy on the field. You get 2 seconds of invulnerability and triple fire rate, then you teleport back to where you started. The target barely has time to react. If you time it right, you delete a key target and get out clean. If you time it wrong — well, you still teleport back, so at least you survive.

Carrier: Swarm Protocol

The Carrier launches 24 temporary fighter drones that attack every visible enemy. These are additive — your existing drone squadron keeps doing its thing while the swarm piles on. They're short-lived, but 24 extra fighters hitting everything at once is devastating. It turns the Carrier from a steady pressure ship into a burst damage nightmare for a few seconds.

How Charge Works

Ultimate charge builds from everything you do: dealing damage, healing allies, getting assists, capturing sectors. There's also passive charge that ticks up over time — about 3 minutes to fill from zero if you do literally nothing else. Active combat fills it much faster. Die, and you lose 50% of your charge. That penalty matters. Playing recklessly when you're close to your ult is a real risk.

Counterplay

Ultimates are strong, but they're not free wins. Scramble and silence effects cancel ultimates mid-activation — if you catch a Destroyer during their lock-on phase, they lose the whole thing. Cloaking makes you invisible to Orbital Barrage's targeting. Killing someone during their wind-up wastes the ult entirely. There are real answers, and smart opponents will use them.

200 Voice Lines

Every captain has unique voice lines for every ultimate. That's 8 captains across 5 ultimates with 5 variants each — 200 lines total. Havok screaming through an Extinction Beam sounds very different from Nyx Virella coldly announcing a Phantom Strike. Your captain choice shapes how these moments feel, and it makes every activation personal.

Server-Authoritative

All of this runs server-side. Charge tracking, activation validation, damage calculation, target selection — everything is authoritative. The client shows you the effects, but the server decides what actually happens. No charge hacking, no phantom damage, no fake activations. If you see an ult go off, it's real.
