First Flight: Shattered Void in Early Development

We've been working on something for a while now, and it's finally at the point where we can talk about it. Shattered Void is a 5v5 tactical space combat game — fast matches, distinct ship roles, and mechanics deep enough to keep you coming back.

The pitch is simple: you pick a warship, you join a team of five, and you fight. But the ships aren't interchangeable. A Dreadnought plays nothing like an Interceptor. A Carrier pilot has a completely different job than a Frigate. When a team figures out how to use all five roles together, the game clicks in a way that's hard to describe.

What Makes It Different

There are a lot of space games. Most of them are slow, or single-player, or both. We wanted something that plays more like a competitive team shooter — tight rounds, clear roles, meaningful decisions every few seconds — but in space, with warships.

Every ship has a jump drive. You can warp between sectors mid-match — reinforce a teammate across the map, flank behind enemy lines, or bail out when you're outgunned. It adds a layer of strategy that changes how you think about positioning.

Power management is the other piece. You're constantly shifting energy between weapons, shields, and engines depending on the situation. Chasing someone down? Full engines. About to take a hit? Dump into shields. It's simple to understand but the timing separates good players from great ones.

Where We're Headed

Right now we have five ship classes, working multiplayer, and the core combat loop feels right. There's a lot of polish left — better visual feedback, more game modes, ranked play, progression. But the foundation is solid and we're playing it every day.

We'll be posting updates here as we go. No hype, no promises — just what changed and why. If you're into competitive team games and space combat sounds good, keep an eye on this.
